Marion - Sczerbiak/Varejao Rumor trade

I had read this rumor at hoopsworld.com that a propose trade of Shawn Marion for Wally Szczerbiak and Aderson Varejao. If this one is true, I think both teams can benefit with this trade. Since the Heat are on the hunt for Carlos boozer after this season, they could rid his $ 17.8 million this season and take Szczerbiak's $ 13 million contract. Eventhough Varejao has a player option of $ 6.2 million, he'll likely opt out because he wants higher value and he is playing great early in the season.

For the Cavs, they can bring Marion to their starting line up at the four position and bring Big Ben at the bench as a back-up center for Z. They could be a much improved run and gun team as what they have shown this season. They could motivate Marion to put up his numbers again as what he did at Phoenix. They could use Marion as a 3 when James rest at place Big Ben at the 4.

But for the Cavs, they could mess up their chemistry because the team is playing the great type of basketball in the LeBron era. They couldn't fill the void of Varejao when it comes to his energy coming from the bench and helping Lebron on pick and roll plays. For now, it's better not to push trough this trade proposal. Maybe wait around February to see how the team is playing and the positioning at the standing.
